Which rules apply in the East of England?

PAS 2035:2023 sets the whole-house retrofit process (assessment, coordination, design, installation and evaluation), and PAS 2030:2023 covers installation. Most government-backed retrofit schemes require both, with TrustMark lodgement. We confirm in writing, before appointment, how each measure in your scope will meet those requirements.

What does it cost in the East of England?

Our guide range for cavity wall insulation in the East of England is £1,000–£2,800 per home. That is the UK range of £950–£2,700 (published figure) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 1.04 (our own estimate); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.

How do we deliver it?

Loft work includes checking that the eaves are still ventilating once the new insulation is down, because blocked eaves cause condensation in the roof space.

Common questions

Which council areas in the East of England do you cover for loft and cavity wall insulation?

All 45: Babergh, Basildon, Bedford, Braintree, Breckland, Brentwood, Broadland, Broxbourne, Cambridge, Castle Point, Central Bedfordshire, Chelmsford, Colchester, Dacorum, East Cambridgeshire, East Hertfordshire, East Suffolk, Epping Forest, Fenland, Great Yarmouth, Harlow, Hertsmere, Huntingdonshire, Ipswich, Kings Lynn and West Norfolk, Luton, Maldon, Mid Suffolk, North Hertfordshire, North Norfolk, Norwich, Peterborough, Rochford, South Cambridgeshire, South Norfolk, Southend-on-Sea, St Albans, Stevenage, Tendring, Three Rivers, Thurrock, Uttlesford, Watford, Welwyn Hatfield, West Suffolk.

How deep should loft insulation be?

Current guidance for most lofts is around 270mm of mineral wool, or equivalent, but your specification and funding scheme set the target.

Is every cavity wall suitable for fill?

No. Exposure to driving rain, narrow or obstructed cavities and poor wall condition can make fill unsuitable. That is why we survey first.
