Which rules apply in the South West?
Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund Wave 3 (£1.29bn for 2025–2028, plus up to £295m more for 2026/27) requires delivery under PAS 2035/2030, TrustMark-registered installers and, for heat pumps and solar, MCS certification. The fund is closed to new applications. Separately, social rented homes must reach EPC C on one reformed EPC metric by 1 April 2030.
What does it cost in the South West?
Our guide range for external wall insulation in the South West is £10,200–£18,850 per house. That is the UK range of £10,000–£18,500 (published figure) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 1.02 (our own estimate); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.
How do we deliver it?
Residents are told when their wall will be worked on and what will be moved. Satellite dishes, meters and pipes are relocated and restored as part of the scope.
Common questions
Which council areas in the South West do you cover for external wall insulation?
All 27: Bath and North East Somerset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Bristol, Cheltenham, Cornwall, Cotswold, Dorset Council, East Devon, Exeter, Forest of Dean, Gloucester, Isles of Scilly, Mid Devon, North Devon, North Somerset, Plymouth, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, South Hams, Stroud, Swindon, Teignbridge, Tewkesbury, Torbay, Torridge, West Devon, Wiltshire.
Can EWI be used on blocks of flats?
Often, yes. On blocks, the fire performance of the whole external wall is a design matter, and the rules on combustible materials depend on the building's height and use. We work to the design and do not substitute materials.
Does EWI cause damp?
Badly detailed EWI can. Most failures happen at window reveals, eaves and ground level, which is where we spend the most care.
