Which rules apply in Northern Ireland?
PAS 2035:2023 sets the whole-house retrofit process (assessment, coordination, design, installation and evaluation), and PAS 2030:2023 covers installation. Most government-backed retrofit schemes require both, with TrustMark lodgement. We confirm in writing, before appointment, how each measure in your scope will meet those requirements.
What does it cost in Northern Ireland?
Our guide range for external wall insulation in Northern Ireland is £9,000–£16,650 per house. That is the UK range of £10,000–£18,500 (published figure) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 0.90 (our own estimate); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.
How do we deliver it?
Residents are told when their wall will be worked on and what will be moved. Satellite dishes, meters and pipes are relocated and restored as part of the scope.
Common questions
Which council areas in Northern Ireland do you cover for external wall insulation?
All 11: Antrim and Newtownabbey, Ards and North Down, Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Belfast, Causeway Coast and Glens, Derry City and Strabane, Fermanagh and Omagh, Lisburn and Castlereagh, Mid Ulster, Mid and East Antrim, Newry, Mourne and Down.
Can EWI be used on blocks of flats?
Often, yes. On blocks, the fire performance of the whole external wall is a design matter, and the rules on combustible materials depend on the building's height and use. We work to the design and do not substitute materials.
Is EWI eligible for funding?
It is commonly funded through social housing retrofit schemes. Funding conditions usually require PAS 2035 delivery and certified installers, which we confirm for your project in writing.
