Which rules apply in the North East?

PAS 2035:2023 sets the whole-house retrofit process (assessment, coordination, design, installation and evaluation), and PAS 2030:2023 covers installation. Most government-backed retrofit schemes require both, with TrustMark lodgement. We confirm in writing, before appointment, how each measure in your scope will meet those requirements.

What does it cost in the North East?

Our guide range for external wall insulation in the North East is £9,000–£16,650 per house. That is the UK range of £10,000–£18,500 (published figure) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 0.90 (VOA Rating Cost Guide 2026: 0.89–0.93); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.

How do we deliver it?

We photograph every stage, including fixings and mesh laps that will be hidden, because funders and system holders ask for it.

Common questions

Which council areas in the North East do you cover for external wall insulation?

All 12: County Durham, Darlington, Gateshead, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, Northumberland, Redcar and Cleveland, South Tyneside, Stockton-on-Tees, Sunderland.

Can EWI be used on blocks of flats?

Often, yes. On blocks, the fire performance of the whole external wall is a design matter, and the rules on combustible materials depend on the building's height and use. We work to the design and do not substitute materials.

Do residents need to move out?

No. EWI is fixed outside, although services and fittings on the wall need to be moved temporarily.
