Which rules apply in the West Midlands?

Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, the presence of asbestos must be assessed (or presumed) before work that could disturb it, and a refurbishment and demolition survey is needed before intrusive work in buildings built or refurbished before 2000. Licensed asbestos work is carried out only by licensed contractors.

What does it cost in the West Midlands?

Our guide range for re-covering a pitched roof on a 2–3 bed house in the West Midlands is £6,800–£17,450 per house. That is the UK range of £7,000–£18,000 (published figure) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 0.97 (VOA Rating Cost Guide 2026: 0.95–1.00); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.

How do we deliver it?

We group homes that share a terrace or a scaffold run, which brings the per-home cost down and shortens the disruption for each street.
