Which rules apply in the South East?

Where there is more than one contractor, the client appoints a principal designer and a principal contractor. A project must be notified to HSE if it lasts more than 30 working days with more than 20 workers on site at once, or exceeds 500 person-days.

What does it cost in the South East?

Our guide range for re-covering a pitched roof on a 2–3 bed house in the South East is £7,700–£19,800 per house. That is the UK range of £7,000–£18,000 (published figure) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 1.10 (VOA Rating Cost Guide 2026: 1.05–1.15); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.

How do we deliver it?

Gutters and downpipes are cleared and tested before scaffold comes down, so you are not paying for access twice.
