Which rules apply in the East of England?
The Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (Amendment) Regulations 2022 require social landlords in England to fit a smoke alarm on every storey with living accommodation, a carbon monoxide alarm in any room with a fixed combustion appliance (excluding gas cookers), and to repair or replace faulty alarms once reported.
What does it cost in the East of England?
Our guide range for mains-wired interlinked smoke, heat and CO alarms in the East of England is £470–£935 per home. That is the UK range of £450–£900 (our estimate) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 1.04 (our own estimate); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.
How do we deliver it?
Fitting alarms during a void or a rewire avoids a separate visit, so we flag homes in your other programmes where alarms are due.
