Which rules apply in the East of England?
In England, Disabled Facilities Grants of up to £30,000 can fund major adaptations, and minor adaptations costing £1,000 or less must be provided free under adult social care rules. Many housing associations fund adaptations for their own tenants.
What does it cost in the East of England?
Our guide range for a level-access shower or wet room in the East of England is £4,950–£6,750 per home. That is the UK range of £4,750–£6,500 (published figure) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 1.04 (our own estimate); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.
How do we deliver it?
Where possible, we hand over with the occupational therapist present, so any adjustment can be agreed on the spot.
