Which rules apply in the East Midlands?

Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, the presence of asbestos must be assessed (or presumed) before work that could disturb it, and a refurbishment and demolition survey is needed before intrusive work in buildings built or refurbished before 2000. Licensed asbestos work is carried out only by licensed contractors.

What does it cost in the East Midlands?

Our guide range for a kitchen in a replacement programme in the East Midlands is £5,100–£10,200 per kitchen. That is the UK range of £5,000–£10,000 (derived from published totals) adjusted by a regional cost factor of 1.02 (VOA Rating Cost Guide 2026: 1.01–1.07); figures are before VAT where the source states it. Every job is priced after survey; specification, access and the condition of the homes will move the figure.

How do we deliver it?

A resident liaison officer visits before the survey, explains the programme and stays in touch until handover. Most complaints on kitchen programmes come from poor communication, not poor workmanship.
